Assets Constraints

This table is used within the Network Optimization experiment only. It allows you to define the range limiting the desired number of sites (distribution centers, factories, suppliers) in your supply chain. The experiment will use this data to find the optimal number of sites (or supersites) and their locations.

e.g. Our supply chain contains 50 distribution centers distributed over a certain area, and we feel that a number of super distribution centers could significantly improve this supply chain. By creating a record in this table we specify the group of distribution centers to consider (create a group of these distribution centers in the Groups table), and the min and max quantity of the super distribution centers that we would like to have. The NO experiment will consider this record to provide us with the optimal solution.
Column Description
Group Specify the group of objects to consider.

Objects of the Customer type are not considered even if they are in the defined group.

Min Specify the minimum number of objects that you require to have in the current supply chain.
Max Specify the maximum number of objects that you require to have in the current supply chain.

Objects of the Customer type are not considered. Even if the Max value corresponds or exceeds the total number of objects in the defined Group, the objects of the Customer type from this group will be skipped.

Time Period The time period during which the constraints are valid.
Inclusion Type

Defines the status of the given group.

  • Include — include this constraint into supply chain configuration.
  • Exclude — exclude this constraint from supply chain configuration. If selected, the table record will be grayed out to denote the current inclusion type. The table record stays editable.
